have you ever had a puppy love? had a crush on someone when you are still very young and clueless? It is a funny, a bit ridiculous memory if we flashback about that.
looking into the evolution of love as people grow, many shows that it has no longer become more interesting, more challenging, more emotional as it was before. in my opinion, that's because:
- considering that people grow with more and more problems coming by, the romance thing has piled down below other mind matters.
- people started to love conditionally. we create demand and certain criteria as we grow old over experiences.
- we have become "accustomed" to the love thingy. we find it usual to get approached to approaching somebody. felt too much broken hearted, flowery feelings, etc. we have become an experienced and expert in that field.
- there are thousands of new tricks and ways to get closer to someone right now. remember how hard it was for us to call someone we like (to their home phone no. - handphones were rare!)? now, ask for bb pin or fb account will do.
- and so many other similar causes
does those kind of thrill feeling not important anymore?
I read from Eat, Pray, Love, the term of 'loving with energy'.
Yep, to love needs energy. the problem is, do we really willing to give out such an energy to love someone? or right now, we are just being effortless in love since it come and go so easily, so we create our own barrier to be aware and save more energy?
For me, in despite of how many times i have been broken hearted, I'm still using the best that I can give to the love I'm having, even i've become more open and honest about it.
Because I don't want to let the current person that I'm in love with, only get the 'leftover' piece of heart that i have because of the unpleasant memories from the past. Of course, we also need to understand somehow that the possibility of having hard times is always available, but that's not the reason not to love someone with full-energy.
So, are you willing to give your full heart (not only 'leftovers') to love someone like it was when we were young?
First thing first, you gotta learn how to love God, and how to love yourself, then you'll understand how to love others.
